Instead of manually navigating to specific features or assistants, you can simply use predefined shortcuts to streamline your workflow.

Setting Up Shortcuts

To customize your shortcuts, follow these steps:

  1. Access Settings: On the left sidebar, click on your Profile, this way you will open Settings.

  2. Navigate to Shortcuts Tab: In the User Settings window, switch to the Shortcuts tab, where you can customize commands for your frequently used actions.

  3. Assign Commands: Here, you can set commands for:

    • Assistant command (e.g., type @ to quickly call an assistant)

    • Plugins command (e.g., use ! to activate specific plugins)

    • Prompt command (e.g., type / to initiate a custom prompt)

    • Files command (e.g., # for uploading files).

You can also reset all shortcuts to default values at any time by clicking on Reset to defaults.

Using Shortcuts in Chat

Once shortcuts are configured, using them in the chat is simple:

  • To quickly activate the Cooking Helper, for example, you can assign a shortcut /cook. After setup, typing @cook in the chat will instantly pull up the Cooking Helper assistant, saving you time. Then, just click it instead of going to the top menu.

  • For quick access to a plugin, if you’ve set !browse for the Web Browsing plugin, simply typing !browse will allow the AI to access real-time web data for your query.

These shortcuts work to streamline your interaction with Writingmate, making your sessions smoother and faster.

By customizing shortcuts, you optimize your Writingmate experience for efficiency and can switch between tasks or assistants without breaking the flow of your work. For more detailed steps on setting up shortcuts, check the Profile Settings under the Shortcuts tab.
